We 100 Project
We Feed
Number 4
Weighing 63kg

We Feed is a human size sculpture made entirely of bird feed. We are feeding it to local wildlife here in Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park (THCP) in order to observe their behaviour.

Because eventually the entire sculpture will ……. we are producing a 2min film that will capture the beauty of TCHP whilst observing the wildlife’s relationship with people and food. The film will become a piece of art in it’s self.

Huge thanks to THCP for allowing the use of this incredible location.

About the Project

We 100 is a collection of life size female sculptures. The project is ongoing and I plan to continue adding to the collection until We have 100! Each sculpture explores new materials & processes, while creating a platform for communication, social observation & collaboration.
At the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, with the world at a standstill, I created a life size sculpture of myself using reclaimed clay. Starting from scratch 3 times, I learned a lot about the process of sculpting clay but I learned a lot more about myself, emotionally & physically. While this was not what I expected, I see now that it was inevitable given the intimate nature of the sculpture!
Knowing that ‘Clay Me’ would eventually collapse due to the nature of its materials, I created a mould, to enable the making of more sculptures and the continuation of what had become a significant project for me. While the outline is based on my form, each cast has the potential to represent much more and I decided I wanted each subsequent sculpture to be collaborative. My aim is for We 100 to help everyone who participates in it, and everyone who views it, to see themselves & life differently - hence the title ‘We’.
